Caherhurley Classic Collection Continued

CAHERHURLEY NURSERY - WE'LL BE BACK NEXT YEAR!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Here at Caherhurley, we've been overwhelmed by the number of visitors expressing sadness at our closure this month (July 2025).

So many people came to thank us for what we've done for them - and for gardens and gardeners throughout Ireland.

This got us thinking - apparently, there's more appreciation for what Caherhurley offers than we'd realised. We truly value this and we reckoned that there had to be a way to reward so much loyalty.

So, by request from so many loyal customers, we decided to continue Caherhurley on a smaller scale.

VISITORS ONLY

-----------------------

We want to continue growing the varieties of plants that gardeners would miss if we were to close forever.

Caherhurley Nursery is now open by appointment only, until March 2026. Ring 087 9062987 to find out when exactly we will be able to welcome you.

We'll also be open visitors from 2026, on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holiday Mondays in March, April, May and June only every year.

I guess many of you know that I, Gert, have had my health issues in recent years - and so the new arrangement will continue as long as my health allows.

My emphasis will be on the plants which have become such favourites at Caherhurley - the unusual and strongly performing varieties which we gathered from small nurseries all over Europe for the last forty years and grew on - plus the varieties we developed ourselves.

PRIVATE COLLECTION

--------------------------------

And in an exciting move, I hope to add plants from my own private collection to our sales area over the coming years, making them available to our customers.

So our consistent aim to keep introducing better plants never ends! I've said it before - there's no stopping an old grower!

GROWING PLANTS

---------------------------

We hope you'll bear with us and appreciate that there's a limit to what we (Gert and Elisabeth Stam) can do. The only service we can offer is making plants available for sale to visitors.

Unfortunately, we can't prepare orders, we can't send plants and we can't run an office. In order to make Caherhurley plants available for visitors, we'll have to focus exclusively on growing them.

So we ask for your understanding. But, as usual, there'll always be a welcome and time for a chat with visitors at our nursery, We'll always be thrilled and delighted to be able to contribute to the happiness of all our loyal - and new - visiting customers.
