Our Plants

Our plants are certified organic, so are free from chemicals that are harmful to bees, pollinators and the environment.

Most plants are provided in 1L pots, but sometimes in 0.5L pots.

We will send out the ordered boxes several times a week. This is to accommodate the high number of orders. Usually, after we confirm your order, we will dispatch within a few days. Occasionally orders which are composed of more than one box might be delivered separately on different days by An Post.

We grow more plants than are displayed on our website. Any plants not listed for sale on the website are too young to be sent, but might be available to nursery visitors. A visit to our nursery represents a valuable experience where you can view our full selection and avail of our horticultural knowledge. As the growing season in 2023 continues, more very interesting varieties will become available for purchase both online and in our nursery.

By ordering Caherhurley Nursery plants, you are guaranteed great value unusual, hardy, outside grown quality plants. You also support Caherhurley Nursery, Ireland's certified organic ornamental plant nursery. You support our environment by purchasing certified organic plants, the only guarantee that no bee-killing chemicals were used. You also support An Post, who deliver the boxes of plants to your door, and in so doing support and maintain an essential community service. We recognise that those at An Post do a great job at their challenging task.

To facilitate shipping, we might have to cut tall plants back a little in order to fit them in the box (box height 30 cm). This will not affect the health of the plant and they will bounce back quickly when planted. Please be advised that, to make shipping as efficient as possible, plants will be packed tightly and some compost might come loose. This does not affect the quality of the plant.

For those who cannot travel to our nursery, we want to maintain the availability of plants through our online delivery service. While this means more work for us, we don't want to disappoint you, the plant buying public. We sell our plants for small prices, but we have to pass on An Post delivery fees, as we cannot afford to work at a loss. Judging by the massive number of boxes plants ordered online, you considered Caherhurley Nursery certified organic plants great value, even including the delivery fee.

The height specified on the website is the eventual height of the plant, not the current height when shipped.

Shipping is charged per multiples of 6 within the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland. We recommend purchasing plants in multiples of 6, as this will lower the shipping cost per plant.
