A real treasure for the spring garden. In March to April, deep mauve-blue flowers appear on nodding stems up to 25cm tall. The star-shaped flowers gently sway in the wind and have a yellow centre, provided by the stamen.
Wood anemone grows best well-drained soil in partial shade, where it will happily naturalise and form a carpet of divided leaves with contrasting bright flowers.
