Dill is a delicious herb, used in cooking, especially with fish. Its dark green wiry leaves are reminiscent of fennel, but with its own distinct taste. Growing up to 60cm, its flat-topped yellow flowers can be enjoyed from July to August and seed saved (or used in cooking), or cut out the flowers when it is starting to bolt, if it is used for culinary purposes. As dill is an anual or sometimes a biennial, seed can be saved or seperate batches can be planted every year.
Dill likes to grow in a moist, well-drained soil in full sun.
