Mountain Everlasting is a native Irish plant also called Catuibh. It is an evergreen perennial, forming a mat of spoon-shaped leaves which have dense white hairs beneath. The upright stems grow to 10cm, bearing fluffy white or pink flowerheads from May to June. The male(white) and female(pink) flowers are found on different plants. These are followed by a fluffy white seedhead.

In its native habit, it grows in limestone grassland, cliffs and rocky places and is abundant in the Burren. The Mountain Everlasting likes to grow in a free-draining soi in full sun.
