Harebell is a native Irish wildflower also known as Méaracán gorm. Its delicate-looking, light blue, bell-shaped flowers are held on up to 30cm thin curving stems from June to October. As the latin name suggest, the leaves are round at the base of the plant, but narrower on the stems.
In its native habitat it is found in dry grasslands, dunes or limestone mountains. In the garden it likes a moist, well-drained soil in sun or partial shade.
