Three petalled strikingly radiant blue, appear from green hooded flowerheads, to 60cm tall. The long flowering season, from June to September make an attractive border plant. The flowers are held above upright grass-like leaves. The common name Dayflower refers to each flower only lasting one day, but are quickly replaced by the next one.
