Foxglove is a native Irish plant, also called Lus mόr. Growing to 120cm, the bell-shaped pink-purple flowers are held on one side of a long flowerspike, maturing from the base up from June to July. The flowers have black spots on the inside of the bells and are attractive to bees.

Its native habitat is woodland clearings and mountains. In the garden it grows best in well-drained soil in sun or partial shade. A great cottage garden plant or for a woodland garden.

This is a biennial plant, living for two years, but will seed itself for the following year.
